Yes, VHT makes the tightest sounding amps on earth man, loud and aggressive, but you can`t loosen them up or get them liquid sounding at all. I love the VHT`s, but they are kinda a 1 tone kinda deal, at least on the CLX and Ultra Leads. Jack.

Try 50/CL with volume 3-5, possibly add the tube rectification on the red channel. You do get some more compression/saturation this way.
But I agree it gives you fairly distinctive feel.
